    The Shafter Library & Learning Center is pleased to welcome the new community services supervisor, Rebecca Bernal. The position has been redesignated from SLLC manager because in addition to leading the team at the SLLC, Bernal will be involved in planning and organizing the city's downtown events.   • Books in Motion makes kids books come alive

    The Books in Motion program came to the Shafter Library and Learning Center last Friday to perform Splat the Cat with a Bang and a Clang. BIM is a collaboration of the Kern Dance Alliance, a nonprofit dance advocacy organization supporting and promoting dance and the arts in Kern County, and Kern Literacy Council, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives through literacy.
