The Shafter Police Department is to keep the community of Shafter safe, be it on the roads or in their neighborhoods, working in eliminating dangerous situations, be they big or small. Steven Flores Garza, who killed two people and injured a third when his vehicle collided with a Honda sedan in 2018, was convicted of six charges, including two charges of second-degree murder in the case, the highest possible penalty involving a DUI case.
