There will be no more parking along the corridor between Lerdo Highway and Central Avenue. The City Council recently voted to prohibit on-street parking there because of the car wash being built in the area. The Kern County Sheriff's Office lost one of their own Sunday after a standoff left five people dead. Deputy Philip Campas, 35, was killed when a suspect opened fire during an incident on 1st Street in Wasco.
