    Jamie Stewart, The Shafter Press|Apr 11, 2019

You could always tell when it was Friday when you were anywhere near the intersection of Central Valley Highway and Central Avenue in Shafter. Owner Jeremy Jeffries, of Jeffries Bros., Inc., said that the...

  • Pastor's Corner - April 11, 2019

Pastor Jim Neal, First Southern Baptist Church, Shafter|Apr 11, 2019

The challenge we have with happiness, laughter and cheerfulness is that we make it our goal and not a byproduct of our life’s work. Often, we hear people say, “I just...

  • Library needs our help -- and deserves it

    Henry Wiebe|Apr 11, 2019

As some of you know, the Kern County Library and Shafter Learning Center would like to expand. If you have gone to the Learning Center lately, you may have seen a stack of surveys on the desk. If you fill out a survey, you are making a contribution by giving feedback for the Shafter City Council to review and potentially change the learning landscape of Shafter.
