    Memorial Day ceremonies were held throughout Kern County, and the City of Shafter honored the holiday with their own at the Shafter Memorial Cemetery, put on by the Ladies Auxiliary, along with several local businesses including the Shafter Lions Club, Shafter Rotary and Shafter Kiwanis.     Shafter Minter Field Air Museum again participated in the Memorial Day Service held on Monday afternoon at Camp Hamilton. The service was well attended, with a large crowd participating in a barbecue, a ceremony including bagpipes, speakers and a roll call of names of the veterans who are honored at the Park.     A grisly discovery was made by a farm worker on Wednesday at Westside Farms. The business is located off of Zerker Road just south of Lerdo Highway. A body was discovered in a silo in which a worker was trying to withdraw gypsum. Fearing that an auger that pulls out the product was clogged, the worker investigating the source of the blockage found that that it was a human body. The gender was not known at this time.
