Freya came into the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray. She is approximately 3 to 6 years old, and is a female pitbull terrier that is great with staff and other dogs. The Pet of the Week for Shafter is Sage, an adult female German shepherd mix. She is friendly, affectionate, playful. Sage is also a very smart and curious dog, who will make you laugh and can also keep up with you as an active person. Sage is very active and would do well in a home with a little room to run around and also a tall fence to keep her safe. Derek is a tan and black shepherd mix who is about 1½ years old. He is an adorable guy who came into the Shafter Animal Shelter a little shy. But, he is eager to learn about toys and long walks with my new family. Derek has been neutered, vaccinated and has passed all of his SAFER evaluations. He is ready for that forever home. Hi friends! Meet our energetic boy, Simba! Simba is a Red and White Husky and is about 2 years old. He has done well when being introduced to dogs of a similar size. Simba loves to run around and be goofy. We would recommend an obedience class as he could learn a few things about being a good boy. Simba can be a bit mouthy; what we describe mouthy to be is when a dog tends to put their teeth on your body but not intentionally bite down to harm; it is done in a playful manner....

Come and meet this loveable guy named Hank. Hank is a brindle pit bull mix who is guessed to be about 1 year old. This sweet boy has been neutered and is now available for adoption. Hank has a lot of energy and would do best with a strong handler when going out on a walk. Since his stay at the shelter they have learned Hank loves people and is quite a ham!
