Heidi came into the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray. She is protective, brave and dignified. Heidi is a 3-5-year-old chihuahua and is great with staff and other dogs. At the time, it is unknown if Heidi is house/crate trained. Dogs are not tested with children. Her behavior towards children is unknown. Heidi will be available for adoption on Friday, Dec. 9. 3 years ago: Nov. 11, 1992 John Fabrie of Fabrie Jewelers celebrated changing ownership to son Rich Fabrie. Rich continued the business for the next 30 years. Rich retired and closed up Fabrie Jewelers in 2020. 40 years ago: Nov. 10, 1982 The SHS marching band had their first annual band review. The first salute of the competition was given by Jennifer Dobbs. It was sponsored by the Shafter Friends of Fine Arts. --Compiled by Erica Soriano...

Patrick came in as a stray. He is friendly, gentle and playful. He is approximately a 7-month-old Shepard mix and is great with staff and other dogs. Wally came into the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray. He is 6 to 8 months old, and is a male, lab/dachshund mix. He is great with staff and with other dogs of all sizes. It is unknown if Wally is house/crate trained. Dogs are not tested with children; his behavior toward children is unknown. Wally will be available for adoption on Oct. 17.
