Meet Violette, a sweet and playful 9-month-old German shepherd who came into the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray. She is a joy to be around and gets along wonderfully with our staff and other dogs. While we don't know if she's house/crate trained, her loving personality shines through every day. Violette's interactions with children are unknown as we haven't tested her behavior around them. However, she's sure to bring happiness to any home ready to give her a chance! She will be available for...

The MEChA adisor sold all 125 pieces of his Mexican cultural artwork. 10 tears ago: Aug. 6, 2014 After 40 years, Insect Lore founder Carlos White decided to close his Entomology Museum. Meet Luke, a lovable 1-2-year-old male husky mix with piercing blue eyes and soft, shiny fur. He's friendly, great with staff and other dogs, and ready to find his forever family. 4 years ago: July 18, 1984 Shafter Aquatic Center was all the craze to be at in the mid 80's summertime vacation. It was .50 for 17 years and under. *Today, the Shafter Aquatic Center is under new construction. Shafter residents are anticipating the new center to come. Especially with these new heat waves of future summers. 30 years ago: July 13, 1994 Larsen Jensen, 18, of Shafter, made a new 1500-meter freestyle swim event record. Red came into the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray. He is approximately a 2-3-year-old male American Staffordshire Terrier/ cattle mix. He is great with staff and selective with other dogs. At the time, it is unknown if Red is house/crate trained. Dogs are not tested with children; his behavior toward children is unknown.
