Pastor's Corner -- Dec. 27, 2019

One of my favorite authors is Max Lucado. His writing is solidly Biblical, captivating and very practical in nature. He wrote a book about Christmas several years ago called “Because of Bethlehem” that I’d highly recommend. Let me share just a few of his thought s and the key word for each of them:

Hope. The manger dares us to believe the best is yet to be. And it could all begin today.

Peace. Christ came to bring peace on earth and goodwill to all.

Joy. Let there be jubilation, celebration and festivity!

Love. It really comes down to that, God loves us.

Christmas is a great time of year to share God’s wonderful gift of salvation found in Jesus. The salvation found in Him is the most wonderful gift we could ever receive. Let me encourage all who know Jesus to spread his Good News to someone this holiday season and in the coming year!

Pat Coyle is pastor of the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church.
