Medalist at Ninja Warrior event

Shafter boys Aaron and Micah Neufeld competed in a Ninja Warrior competition held at Freedom in Motion gym in Murrieta recently, and Aaron came home with a second-place medal.

The competition was a qualifier for the Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association and was for athletes 6 years old and up.

Athletes competed on a ninja-themed obstacle course that is set by the UNAA league. It consisted of three upper body, three lower body, and one balance challenge. Competitors complete as many obstacles in order as fast as they can for maximum points.

Micah finished three of the nine obstacles and tied for 6th place. Aaron completed seven of nine obstacles and got 2nd place.

Aaron and Micah train for ninja competitions using the obstacles in their back yard made by their dad, Stephen Neufeld, because of their love of of the Ninja Warrior character. At the event, they also had the opportunity to meet a couple of American Ninja Warriors, Derek Miamoto and Derren Perez, and got their picture taken with them.
