Serving the community since 1922
Family Dollar of Shafter celebrated a grand re-opening Saturday, complete with a DJ playing music, a booth for customers to win prizes, and giveaways inside the store.
Store Manager Angel Saavedra said that the re-opening was the result of their corporate office’s decision to remodel the store, making it possible to display more merchandise, as well as a better floor plan for their registers and checkout area.
The result is a store more convenient for customers, as well as for the employees. The store now has a cooler section, full of dairy, beverages, frozen food and ice cream, that extends the length of the store.
Family Dollar has been open for over five years and has enjoyed success, growing a loyal following and customer base. The store carries a variety of merchandise, including grocery items such as canned food, frozen food, bread and tortillas, chips and condiments. They also have household items such as cleaners, household supplies, lawn and garden equipment and supplies, as well as clothing and electronics.
The store has low prices on a wide assortment of items, with the majority of the items $10 and under. “We have a store that has great prices, and we take our customers’ needs to heart and try to fulfill what they want in a neighborhood store.” Saavedra said,
In addition to the prices, customers can also use the Family Dollar app on their smart device and easily clip Smart Coupons, their exclusive digital coupons, for greater savings.
No matter what inventory a store has, it is not a success without a great staff, which this Family Dollar has. The staff are friendly, smiling, and ready to help their customers have a pleasant and enjoyable shopping experience.
According to management, the store’s vision is to be the go-to convenience store for the neighborhoods that they serve. “We know our customers work hard to provide for their families. Whether it is a quick meal, a quick snack or a gift for a party, they know that they can count on Family Dollar to stock their favorite brands and quality products.”
The store remained open during the renovation, always making sure that the work was done in a safe environment and continuing to serve the community.
