'Shafter on the Big Screen'

Stan Wilson, of the Shafter Historical Society, will present “Shafter and the Big Screen” on June 18 at 6 p.m. at the Shafter Branch Library. Wilson will detail the theaters in Shafter that once provided local entertainment, a Shafter schoolgirl who became a Hollywood star and the filming of the “Great Potato Race” that was aired on the Mickey Mouse Club in l956.

Admission is free, and the public is invited.
