Student Spotlight: Gabby Del Toro

A monthly page highlighting what's going on at Shafter High School, coordinated by English teacher Larissa Davis.

Gabby Del Toro is a senior at Shafter High School and has been extremely involved in Theater Program all four years of her high school career. She is a part of the Advanced Theater course and in charge of the tech that goes into the productions from the plays to the Haunted House.

Gabby works on each production at Shafter High School helping with sound, lighting and set design. Her specialty is the lightboard. She loves seeing how lights can make a scene spectacular. Gabby says "a lot of students get nervous managing the lightboard because it is so much responsibility, but [she] thrives on the challenge."

She also helps the Advanced Theater actors at the competitions by providing music and lighting to make the scene complete. After graduation, Gabby plans to attend Bakersfield College and then transfer to Fresno State University to possibly pursue a masters degree in Library Science.
