20 years ago: June 28, 2000

The Wasco Valley Golf Course had their 4th Annual Junior Golf Camp. It helps introduce the young people how to play and enjoy golf. Eighty kids attended the camp.

30 years ago: June 27, 1990

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new Stringham’s Park, on the corner of James Street and East Lerdo Highway.

40 years ago: June 25, 1980

The Shafter Shuttle was in full operation for the very first time on June 25, 1980. A round trip was 50 cents and 25 cents for senior citizens.
