District Governor Deepa Willingham visited with the Shafter Rotary Club to discuss future plans. In 2018 Deepa Willingham received the United Nations Association Peace Prize for her important humanitarian work around the world.
20 Years Ago: Nov 1. 2000
Shafter American Legion Auxiliary Unit #213 raised over $20,000 for the Veterans' Memorial Wall at the Shafter Cemetery. Over 900 names are on the wall from the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm.
30 Years Ago: Oct 10, 1990
Shafter Convalescent Hospital had a Western Day Celebration. Shana Starrh sang at that celebration.
