Teofilo Farias Jr.

Teofilo Farias Jr., 59, passed away on Dec. 21, 2020 at Mercy Southwest Hospital in Bakersfield.

Born on April 11, 1961, in Galveston, Texas, to Teofilo and Lupe Farias, Teofilo was one of 12 children.

Growing up in Shafter, Teofilo graduated from Shafter High School in 1979. After high school he attended Bakersfield College where he studied auto mechanics. He worked for the City of Shafter and retired in 2010.

Teofilo married Concha (Cathy) Gutierrez in 1985 and they were happily married for 35 years. He loved his family and his sports…and was an avid 49ers fan. He was a man of faith who loved God and attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. He enjoyed coaching his daughters and nieces’ softball teams and was involved in the local 4H for many years. He found joy in attending family sporting events; and was always on board for a fishing and camping trip with family and friends.

Teofilo is survived by his wife Cathy; his daughters Constance, Valerie, and Destiny; son-in-laws Michael and Juan; Grandson Logan; and numerous siblings, brother in-laws and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.

And he will be missed by all!
