Palm Avenue Middle School Principal Oscar Luna was recently appointed as a new board member to serve on the Wasco Recreation and Parks District.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Alessandro Martinez, the son of Miguel and City Clerk Maria Martinez.

Sharon Sharp was also reappointed to the Wasco Recreation and Parks District Board. Luna and Sharp will serve four-year terms ending Nov. 30, 2025.
City Manager Scott Hurlbert complimented Finance Director Isarel Perez-Hernandez on being selected to serve on the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers. Hurlbert said that Perez-Hernandez was specifically requested by the county to serve on this board.
The City Council unanimously approved the Notice of Acceptance and authorized the city clerk to file the Notice of Completion of the Ag Well Drilling project.
Also, the council unanimously approved the Notice of Acceptance for Well #14, which authorized the city clerk to file the Notice of Completion for the well Site Development project.
Sgt. Charles Shinn asked residents to provide any information they may know on a fatal shooting Nov. 15 in the early morning. Neither the victim nor the suspect have been named.
