Undefeated Lady Tigers in state championships

The varsity Lady Tigers continue to

dominate the opposition this season as they

enter the CIF playoffs with a 22-game win

streak.

Only dropping three games this season

out of 25, they go undefeated in league

play, going 12-0 as they prepared to go

against Kerman (14-11) for the second

time on Wednesday, May 17. This makes

the Wasco Tigers first place in the Central

Section South Sequoia League, placing

them above schools such as Taft, Shafter,

Chavez, Arvin, McFarland and Kennedy.

Lady Tiger supremacy cannot be understated.

So far, 11 out of 22 wins have

been complete shutouts. This season, the

Tigers have shut out the likes of Bakersfield

Christian 1-0, Kerman 1-0, Barstow 3-0,

Tehachapi 9-0, McFarland 13-0 and Arvin

15-0. Schools such as Ridgeview, Mira

Monte and Kennedy were shut out twice

by the Lady Tigers this season. Ridgeview

lost 14-0 the first time and 11-0 the second

time. Mira Monte lost 11-0 the first time,

15-0 the second time. Kenedy lost 13-0 the

first time, 10-0 the second time.

When asked earlier this year about the

team's expectations, Softball Head Coach

Sonia Wedel said, “We are looking to be

more competitive than we've been in the

last 3-4 years and produce more wins.

Softball has expanded quite a bit in the

last 10 years, and overall high school

teams are stronger and the competition is

tougher. We can't take any team or game

lightly.”
