Pastor's Corner: He is faithful in His promises

Hebrews 10:23 says, Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised. In this world that we live in we are going to need spiritual endurance and stamina. We must hang onto the Lord and His Word. The Bible tells us to fight the good fight of faith. We are living in uncertain and perilous times, but God is faithful!

Deuteronomy 7:9 says, He is the faithful God. That is his character – faithfulness. Scripture teaches that no matter what, He stays faithful. Psalm 89:8 says Faithfulness is all around the Lord. Great is God’s faithfulness.

In the storms of life He is faithful in what He promises. Life is filled with storms and sometimes unexpected storms. One of our sons who pastors in Oklahoma called and said out of nowhere there town of Poteau was hit with a microburst storm. Trees were uprooted and power lines fell to the ground. He said it rained like he had never seen before. In the Walmart people were crying out, help us Jesus. He is faithful that promised.

In the midst of a storm Paul cried out I believe God! Do you believe God in your storm? Do not waver, hold on to God. He is faithful that promised.

Though there may be howling winds of doubt, He is faithful in what he promises. I recently had a TAVAR procedure done. I had aortic valve stenosis. The morning of the surgery another man waiting for a surgery told me he had his aortic valve replaced and said he really hurt after the surgery. I didn't want to hear that.

In the prep room one doctor was running a last-minute exam on me and said he could barely see the opening of my aortic valve, he said it’s very narrow, and he just shook his head. I was hearing how bad I was and at the same time trying to fight the good fight of faith. He is faithful in what He promises. Jesus said he would never leave us or forsake us. He was faithful.

After surgery, I never felt one bit of pain. People said I had the best cardiology team; maybe, but all I know, He is faithful in what he promised. No matter what comes our way in life, have faith in God. He is faithful in His promises..
