Serving the community since 1922
Dec. 19, 1946 – Dec. 10, 2022
Jerry Dale Fowler went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 10, 2022. Jerry was known by his kind and gentle nature, love and dedication to God and his overwhelming love of his family.
He married the love of his life, Shirley Fowler, at age 21, and they celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 21, 2019, before she passed; he has been missing her ever since. Shirley and Jerry had two loving children, Mark Fowler and Mindy Hensen; and two adored granddaughters, Breanne Mayfield and Brittany Millwee. Most recently he was able to meet his great grandson, Drew Millwee, who everyone said he closely resembled.
Jerry was born in Stigler, Okla., Dec. 19, 1946. His family moved back and forth several times before settling in Shafter. He worked as a truck driver hauling crops and went into the finished carpentry business with his son later in life.
After retirement he enjoyed being with family, attending Valley Bible Church and keeping up with Rams football.
Jerry leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Shelli Fowler; his daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Marty Henson; his grand-daughters and their spouses, Breanne and DJ Mayfield, and Brittany and Kyle Millwee; and his grandson, Drew Millwee. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Sue Babbington and Wanda Karnes. His family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited with his wife and the Lord. There will never be a better Papa.
A visitation for Jerry will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Valley Bible Church in Shafter on Friday, Dec. 16, beginning at 10 a.m. and a committal service will follow at Shafter Memorial Park.
