Norma Jean McDowell Ringold

Norma Jean McDowell was born on April 8, 1952, to Mr. Corley and Mrs. Beulah Patterson McDowell in Bakersfield. Norma lived in Wasco the majority of her life. She received all of her primary education in Wasco and was a WHS graduate. She also attended Bakersfield College, California State University, Bakersfield, and San Jose State University as post-secondary school.

Ms. Norma Jean married the love of her life, Mr. David Leon Williams, in 1976. Mr. David Leon Williams preceded her in death. Norma Jean later remarried Eugene Ringold Sr. in 1986. Unto this union, she was blessed with two sons, Jerell T. Ringold and Jamiel T. Ringold, the latter of which is deceased. Eugene preceded Ms. Norma Jean in death.

Ms. Norma Jean served as a substitute teacher from 1976 to 1984 in Wasco. In addition to this, she was a teacher for TAP Pre-School in Lost Hills.

Norma Jean was a care provider for Kern Regional Center. She ran her own self-managed business, ``Jean's Care Home'' under this operation, with the name later being changed to ``Jean & Gene's Care Home.''

Norma Jean accepted Christ under the leadership of Pastor John Ross at the Pentecostal Church of God in Wasco. Later, she united with Macedonia C.O.G.I.C. in Wasco She worked in various offices within the church.

Before her death, Norma attended Apostolic Faith Temple Church of Wasco. She leaves to carry on her legacy: brother Carlton McDowell, son Jerell Ringold, granddaughter Stella Ringold, daughter-in-law Larvinna Ringold, Goddaughters, Davette Henderson, Jessica Thompson and Wanetta Crenshaw, aunts Iola Wiley, Jeanie Trammell and Zadie Bell Patterson, and two play-sisters, Babette Williams and Beverly Miller (deceased).

We the family would like to thank everyone who showed many expressions of love, concern and kindness to the Ms. Norman Jean Ringold family. Special thank yous to Brenda Bakies, Kizna Goodie and Apostolic Faith Temple Bishop H. Crenshaw and First Lady Robbie Crenshaw. Macedonia C.O.G.I.C Pastor Harold Gridiron and First Lady Jamesie Gridiron, and Truelight Baptist Church Pastor Carlos Harrison and First Lady Yolanda Harrison, the McDowells and Pattersons would like to thank you from the depths of our heart.

The sunrise for Norma Jean Ringold, a.k.a. ``Mama Jean,'' our big sister ``Jean,'' was April 8, 1952, and the sunset was Feb. 20, 2023. We also want to give a special thanks to Wasco Outreach for Jesus Christ members. She will be missed by all who worked with her and knew her as a woman with a gigantic heart for anyone with a need.
