WHS club aids community with food event

Wasco APLC is joining with Canyon Hills Food Ministry to feed the community, with an event to take place at the Canyon Hills church parking lot.

Food will be distributed from 4 until 6 p.m. The dinner includes spaghetti with sauce, cheesy garlic bread and water, with a meat and a no-meat option.

The Wasco APLC is an organization on the Wasco High campus that focuses on student leadership and community service. The club's goal is to push future leaders to be involved as much as possible.

The APLC leaders have been planning the event for months. The club consists of six team leaders and about 30 members, and was founded in the beginning of the 2022-23 school year.

Emily Moldenhauer, the president of the club, said, "As we approach the end of the school year, we want to impact as many youth as possible, who will be the footing as seniors."

Moldenhauer says that they plan to, host events for community service, incuding the Feed The Community event, which was proposed back in November of 2022 and has been in the works since.
