The Wasco Tigers football team made their way up the mountain to take on the Warriors of Tehachapi on Friday night. The Tigers came up short, though, dropping the contest 25-6.
The game saw the Tigers use their powerful running game against the Warriors, but Tehachapi were able to stop them for the majority of the game.
Wasco actually got things going early, when they connected on an 80-yard touchdown play late in the first quarter, taking a 6-0 lead. Unfortunately, the Tigers couldn't get much else going on offense, making several miscues and hurting themselves in stalled drives.
Tehachapi used a couple of long touchdown runs to take the lead in the game, giving their defense some breathing room. Wasco also had a misstep in special teams, when their punter mishandled a snap in the end zone, giving the Warriors a two-point safety.
Tehachapi iced the game early in the fourth quarter, with another long touchdown, giving them a 25-6 lead.
The Tigers were unable to mount an offensive attack after that first quarter, making their defense work to keep them in the game.
Wasco will try to even their record at .500 on Friday night when they open SSL play against the Cougars of McFarland at Wasco High.
