Colours: The Shafter Arts Festival is back and there's something for everyone. Just look at the schedule. The festival goes from Thursday, Feb. 22, through Sunday, Feb. 25, starting with the traditional Shafter Community Chest drive-thru Spaghetti Dinner on Thursday, followed by Coffee House Strings music at the Tin Cup.

On Friday, take a history tour of the Minter Field Air Museum, then the Art Gallery at the Ford Theater, and end the day at The Tin Cup with an evening of jazz.

Saturday, Feb. 24, is packed full of great events for everyone. Run or walk in the 2-mile Fun Run, see the car show and tour the Shafter Depot Museum, including the Art d'Cans exhibit. For the kids, there is the Youth Art Workshop, Polymer Key Chain Workshop, and you can also meet the childrens books author Jennifer Gardiner, with her new book [BEGIN ITAL]Count the Bears.[END ITAL]

Out at the Minter Field Air Museum, you can tour all of the historical exhibits, as well as the Green Hotel. There is also a Corn Hole Tourney on Saturday in the Church of Christ parking lot.

To close out the festival Sunday, the Art Gallery will be open, as well as a Meet the Artists and Wine Tasting event, which will be held at the Ford Theater. Go online to the Colours Shafter website for more information, or pick up next week's Shafter Press for a complete guide.
