Activities set for Rose Festival

As the highly anticipated annual Rose Festival approaches, set to take place the weekend following Labor Day, excitement is building throughout Wasco.

This community event, themed "Small Town, Big Ideas," promises a weekend of vibrant activities for all ages. There's something for everyone to enjoy!

Here is the schedule for this year's Rose Festival – "Small Town – Big Ideas":

Thursday, Sept. 5

--Miss Wasco Rose Queen Pageant, Wasco Union High School Auditorium, 6 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 6

--Wasco Elk Ladies Present An Evening of Wine and Roses Honored Guest Reception, Wasco Elks Lodge, 6-10 p.m.

--2nd to None and Orange Heart Foundation Men's Basketball Tournament, Richard Reding Gym, Palm Avenue Middle School (continues through Sunday)

Saturday, Sept. 7

--Color Blast Fun Run presented by Wasco Recreation and Parks District, Barker Park, 7:30-9:30 a.m.

--Pancake Breakfast, North Kern Christian School, 7-10 a.m.

--Wasco Rose Festival Parade, 7th and D streets to Poplar, ending at Barker Park, 10 a.m.

--Wasco Historical Museum open house, 918 6th St., 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

--Vendors and DJ Nonsense Stinks with special guests, live music, car show, WUHSD Art Show, Barker Park, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

--Block and Tackle drive-thru deep pit dinner, Wasco High School parking lot off Poplar, 1-5 p.m.

--Casino Night, Wasco Elks Lodge 2419, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
