UPDATE: Stephen Paul Deleasa

Stephen Paul Deleasa, 60, passed away on Aug. 26, 2024, in Bakersfield. He was born on Jan. 20, 1964, in the state of New Jersey to Edward and Beverly (Blair) Deleasa.

He was a 1982 graduate of Shafter High School. He played football and baseball for Shafter High and was also active with the FFA. After high school he worked as a gardener for several years as well as working at a local golf course.

He enjoyed playing golf with his mother and stepfather at several locations, and he also loved riding his horse, Rosie. Steve did not know a stranger and was loved by many that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Deleasa Sr., his brother Edward "Chip" Deleasa Jr., his mother, Beverly Deleasa-Zecca, and his brother Douglas Deleasa. He is survived by his three aunts, Nancy Day, Gale Tuso and Dale Tabor; his three nieces, Morgan Ekegren, Madison Marklevits and Mikaela Deleasa; along with many other cousins and family members. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at the St. Philip the Apostle Church, 7100 Stockdale Hwy., Bakersfield. Stephen’s Prayer and Mass Services will be starting at 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.. followed by a graveside service at the Shafter Cemetery, 18661 Santa Fe Hwy., from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A reception starts at 12 p.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Church.
